In this article, we will be taking a look through the European players that we feel are going to make a splash in Major League Soccer this coming season. We will make a start with CF Montreal and their new signing Zorhan Bassong from Cercle Brugge.
Zorhan Bassong – CF Montreal:
Zorhan Bassong will be looking for his signing with Club Football de Montreal to be renewed with a second chance. He hasn’t had a great time of it at the minute with Club Brugge. He signed for the Belgian club on January 29th 2019 and unfortunately he was released on July 8th 2020.
Zorhan Bassong is of Cameroonian and Belgian descent having been born in Toronto, Canada in 1999. Zorhan Bassong plays as a left-back and being new to the League as well as an under the radar pick, should be priced, rather nicely when it comes to MLS Fantasy.
Jose Martinez – FC Dallas:
Another defender to look at for MLS Fantasy, a centre back to be exact. The Spaniard made a total of 106 appearances with spells at Sevilla B and Barcelona B respectively, before being signed on a full time deal with Eibar.
Unfortunately, he made no appearances for Eibar, but when he went on loan to Granada between 2018 – 2020, making 56 appearances and scoring 1 goal. Much like Bassong, I’m sure Martinez will be hoping that Major League Soccer will be a fresh start.
Johnaton Bond – LA Galaxy:
A Londoner about to make his way Stateside with LA Galaxy. Johnaton Bond will be looking to get some game time for the Los Angeles outfit this season, having come in from the Premier League West Brom. Watford, Reading and West Brom were his main sides, but it was loans where Bond excelled.
It was the lower leagues where Johnaton Bond really made his name. Spells with Brackley Town, Forest Green, Dagenham & Redbridge as well as Gillingham and Peterborough. Will MLS be the land of opportunity for Bond, Johnaton Bond!
